What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is a software assistant that carries out multi-step tasks on its own rather than only replying with text. Given a goal — prepare this quotation, reconcile these invoices, update this record — it decides the steps, uses the systems it has been connected to, and reports what it did. The difference from a chatbot is that an agent has permission to take action, which is why access limits, approval gates and an audit log matter as much as the model behind it.
An assistant with hands, not just a mouth
The hard part of an agent is never the conversation. It is deciding what it may touch, what it must ask about first, and proving afterwards what it did.
- Plans and executes multi-step work
- Give it a goal and it works out the sequence — look up the customer, check credit terms, price the order, generate the document, file it in the right place. It reports each step rather than producing a black-box result.
- Connected to real systems
- Reads and writes to your ERP, CRM, database, email and spreadsheets through proper integrations, not screen-scraping.
- Permissions and approval gates
- Low-risk actions run on their own; anything financial or customer-facing waits for a named person to approve.
- Complete audit trail
- Every action, input and decision recorded in plain language, so a manager can review a week's work in minutes.
- Escalates when unsure
- When confidence is low or data is missing it stops and asks, instead of guessing and creating work to undo.

Questions, answered
01What is the difference between an AI agent and a chatbot?
A chatbot replies with information. An agent takes action — it can update a record, generate a document or trigger a process in another system. That is also why an agent needs permission rules and an audit log, which a chatbot does not.
02How much does a custom AI agent cost in Bangladesh?
It depends almost entirely on how many systems it has to touch. An agent working inside one tool costs considerably less than one coordinating an ERP, a CRM and a payment gateway. We give an itemised quote after mapping the process with you.
03How long does it take to build?
Four to eight weeks for a first agent covering one well-defined process. Additional tasks on the same foundation are much faster, because the integrations and permission model already exist.
04Can it make a mistake that costs us money?
That is exactly what the approval gates are for. Anything financial, contractual or customer-facing can be set to require a named person to approve before it executes. You decide where that line sits, and it can be moved as trust builds.
05Will it work with our existing ERP or accounting software?
In most cases yes. We integrate through APIs where they exist and through the database or file exchange where they do not. We confirm this during discovery before you commit to anything.
06Is our business data kept private?
Yes. Your data stays in your own systems or a private, access-controlled environment. It is never used to train shared or public models, and never shared with other clients.
07What happens if the agent gets something wrong?
Every action is logged and reversible where the underlying system allows it. When confidence is low the agent stops and asks rather than proceeding, and we review the log with you during the first weeks to tune those thresholds.
